I thought about that, but since I get very few legitimate anonymous posts, and since I just don't want to deal with the spam at all, I'm trying this for now. If it turns out that all of a sudden, lots of non-LJ users suddenly want to comment on my stuff, than I might try out filtering instead. It's just that I don't even want to have to read them in order to approve or deny them - I just want them to go away.
Thanks for the suggestion, though. I might end up going that route in the future.
