I have a friend who volunteers each month as a clinic escort, and I'm so proud of what she does. And sometimes I think, "Well, maybe when the kids are older and I have more free time..." and then I think, "No." I don't think I have what it takes to put myself in that kind of danger, not when I have a family depending on me. My heart goes out to Dr. Tiller's family and their incredible generosity in letting him take that risk, every day.
